America, America!
I guess I should start by saying: La Multi Ani!!! (Happy New Year, Boldog Uj Ev...)
I have been so lazy to write in here, and so many wonderful events have passed by without being recorded in here.
1. I quit my job
2. I slept for two weeks
3. I made it to the US safe and sound.
This entry's stories have to do with number 3, that is my trip to the US.
I guess I finally had the guts to quit my job, and try to do something better with my time, and that is run away - run away from the stressful job, annoying school, and feeling frustrated that I can not accomplish anything!
My trip started with riding a crowded car to the airport in Budapest, here I got 5 hours before my flight... since it was only 3 am, I took a good nap (ok, i slept, I think I even snored at one point) on those cosy chairs. After dreaming of sunny warm days (what else could I dream of when outside were -20 degrees C ???) I had to check in my luggage. I was carrying two huge suitcases, having no idea that I was allowed only one!! So reluctantly and upset I paid the 65$ for my second suitcase, after the lady at the desk almost calls me stupid for not reading all the information about the flight on my ticket (information which I did not receive)... with my wallet lighter, I got on the plane to London. The weather didn't like me all that much, so the frozen plane took off an hour later because of the snow and cold... "It's ok", I told myself, i'll just run across the airport in London, no big deal! We landed 20 minutes before my connection flight, but then the door wouldn't open, so we had to wait to get the emergency door open in the back... I got at the security checkpoint right as my flight was taking off! One might think, "what a tragedy!". It turned out to be a blessing! I got to stay on the airport for another 4 hours for my next flight to Chicago, AND I got a 5 pound food ticket that I could use at any restaurant there. FREE FOOD!!! :D The second blessing that came with it was that I changed flight companies in Chicago, and I didn't have to pay extra for my suitcases ( I was supposed to pay 85$ with the one I had booked before).
The flight from London to Chicago was a pretty good one: good food, my own TV, and a blanket to keep me warm. What more could I ask for ? Well, one thing I could have wished for: a shower!!! By the time I passed the custom in Chicago, i smelled like a dirty skunk!!!
Anyway, 31 hours after leaving Arad, I finally made it to Utah! to my surprise, I had friends waiting for me: Kristi Peterson, Megan Runyan, the Watsons, Kevin Collier, and Chad Anderson. I was dead tired, stinky, and all I could think of was getting home and sleep! Well, other surprises awaited me there: my suitcases were nowhere to be found (all my chocolate was lost!!!), and I had no spare clothes... big problem!
I'm glad my friends didn't care about the way I looked or smelled ( not a good sight, and a good share of reeking odors!), and we went to Taco Bell :D One thing I had forgotten from the first time I visited the US was TAX!! I will never understand why tax is not included in the price! Anyway, we had a great time, and I am so grateful for everyone who thought of me, and wanted to make my stay here an amazing experience.
In the following days, I got at least 20 phone numbers of people that wanted to see me... wow! I have to admit that it's a bit overwhelming. I guess I'm a VIP here? ;) well, I am sure I am going to have many amazing wonderful experiences here. I ill try to keep people updated with my life, since I don't get to spend time with everyone!
Have a good day, or evening, and take care!
