When life gives you rocks to lift...find a forklift

We are all living in this life filled with ups and downs. It's just funny how when things go smoothly for a while, and you think everything is just right, something happens that makes you stop in your tracks and regroup and replan and  and… and wonder! And you know what? It happens to each of us in different ways. I won't give examples because I know that as you are reading this, you remember at least one of these instances. But here are some suggestions on how to deal with surprises: 1. Laugh at it for a minute  Just laugh at how silly it is. Make a few jokes about it, keep it a bit light for a minute. It will keep you from getting too angry, or worked up, so you can think clearly for a second. 2. It is your life to live, you are the only one responsible for the path you choose now I had people giving me advice what to do next, I listened, and I appreciate their help. Some ideas inspired me. But I realised it was not their choice how I would react. It was not their...

Life changes

I haven't written anything in more than two years! Wow! Life flies by, and you can easily miss seeing the blessings if you don't stop to breath for a second. Yes, I am still working at Lidl. It's only one day a week, a 10 hour shift. And why is that? Because now I am a mother of two beautiful, smart, loving little girls. Even though it is the most exhausting thing being with them all the time, it is the most rewarding work. I am so proud of who they are becoming! I do not realise how rewarding it is until someone makes a comment like 'Emma sang with us!' or 'Your girls are so well behaved!' or 'Emma can speak three languages?' Yes, I am a proud mum, but I get swept away by all the playing and reading and singing and hugging that I do not step back to see the results. I just flow with it. So here is a BIG THANK YOU to all those who take a moment to point out to me something related to my girls. As it seems, I get easily side tracked by talking ab...

Being married is...

I think I have been asked ten thousand times these past few months : "so how is married life?" How do you answer this question? I just nod and say "Great!". And that is one of the words that come to my mind when I think of being married. Why is it so great?  Let's see: first, my husband is Superman, but don't tell anyone. He can do a thousand things at a time, but still take care of me and make me feel like the most important and precious woman in the world. He has seen me sick, seen me happy, messy hair in the morning, make-up running down my face, and many other little things which are imperfect, but are part of me. He has seen most of it, and he loves me for every little part of me. He has seen my weaknesses, and he has done so much to help me overcome them, one by one. I still have a long way to go, but he is next to me every step. We have been married almost six months, and we have had no arguments, no reproaching, no putting the other down. We ...

Another "Why?"

This why is more of a learning experience, one that changed at least the next six months of my life, and my view on life. I know a lot of you got so tired of hearing about me "still looking for a job", "no job", or other form of complaint. I had many people tell me to go back to OMV, but I didn't feel like it. Ex-coworkers, my mom, some friends... all telling me that a job at the gas station was better than no job at all, especially since winter is close, and it's expensive to make it through it. I kept praying for a job, to know where I could find something, and yet no answer. Three weeks ago I had an interview at a factory, but the work-salary ratio was ridiculous, so I told them I would only go work there if they had a job in the office, on the computer. They told me they would call me back. Two days later, they called me to go back to an interview, but for the same position, so I turned them down. I kept praying for guidance, all the answers from my ...

Waiting...

It has been one week since I got back to Arad. I have been looking for a job since. I sent my resume to so many companies, I think I even dream at night that I am applying to jobs :) I am growing impatient, but I refuse to sit idly. I was so excited the other day when a friend asked me to help him fix his laptop. I was thrilled! He brought it over, and it looked pretty grim. after trying to figure out the problem for over an hour, I told him the best resort was to reinstall Windows again. He had to go to a soccer game, and I was left with the "toy". It was late, so I went to bed. I was trying to figure out where I could get an installation CD from. Right before falling asleep, an idea crept into my mind, and I fell asleep happy. Do you want to know what was the first thing I did in the morning? No, not breakfast, I turned on his laptop. And in 10 minutes, I figured out a way to avoid the problem. yes, the problem is still there, but it can be isolated, and avoided. George wa...
