One special evening

A while ago, my manager asked me if I could help him organize an activity for his scouts group, who are supposed to learn about a different faith. Since the Preston temple stands out around here, he thought it would be great to learn about it. Last night was the night!
While preparing for it, almost everything went wrong: those who promised to help me dropped last minute (luckily last minute meant the night before), then I couldn't find the material that I wanted to use, and 4 hours before the activity I had no clue what it would be like. My manager told me that he wouldn't be there, but that other Scouts leaders would bring the kids. I was asked to prepare a 45 minute activity for 10 children, 8 year old boys and girls. Finally I found somebody to help, one of the YSA girls in our ward.
Things started working last minute: my printer worked, I found coloured paper, my friend was very smart and kind, and the stake centre was ready for us!
This activity was a great opportunity to teach about what I believe. It brought me many memories from my mission, and I had the Holy Ghost touch my heart just like so long ago! We had a great time with those children. I was warned that they were little devils, but honestly, they were very good! They did run around the temple at the end, but all the time we talked about our faith, they were reverent and kind. I kept on wondering if they would remember anything in a week, and what gave me hope that they will at least remember Jesus Christ was this kid who asked me to take a picture of him with the picture of Jesus Christ.

We never know whose hearts we touch! I was focusing for a very long time on the children, until we went for a walk around the temple. I had a very nice conversation with one of the Scouts leader, and she seemed genuinely interested in our church! She asked me if I was raised in the church, and I got to tell her shortly my conversion story. I told her about the Family History Centre, and she was very pleased and interested in doing her genealogy. I told her about the work we do in the temple, and how because of that, families will be together forever. I could see joy in her eyes! It made me so happy!
I didn't know what would end up happening that evening, but I didn't expect to have that feeling of joy and peace and hope as I was testifying of the things we believe. I hope I get more opportunities like that soon :D
