Happy Thanksgiving to all you out there celebrating this day. To me personally, this holiday doesn't mean too much, the whole history with the Indians... didn't affect my country's history, so not my life I guess. I was thinking though about what this day means. It's a time when people think of the things they are grateful/thankful for, right? So it's a time to analyze your life, a time to see all the blessings in your life. It's a day when you think of your family, your friends, the people you care about, and the people who care about you. I know it's a thing we should do a lot more often, but we are so busy thinking of our daily problems to stop and think of what matters most for us. We are all driven in all our choices and actions by some desires, we have things motivating us. What is that reason fr you? Money, faith, friends, love, hate, greed, laziness... Why do you do what you do? I guess it's a good day to make priorities in our lives, to see what...

Yesterday I had a lot of things to stress me out, to make me not wanna go to work, so I went to Kaufland before starting my shift, and thought of some goodies to make the day more bearable. I bought a huge bottle of Pepsi Twist,two packs of Skittles, and dark chocolate. I was standing in line, looking at the stand next to the register (which I actually hate because it tempts you to buy more stuff while waiting in line), when I saw Cristi's favorite chocolate bar (Cristi is the guy at work that I want to go to the movies with) so I threw that in my basket. I got to work, got drunk on Pepsi, and acted all happy, but I noticed that Cristi as awfully quiet. He isn't quiet unless he is sad. So I pulled the chocolate bar out of my pocket, and handed it to him. I didn't say anything. He looked at me with a puzzled look, thinking I was just messing with him. He asked me if I really bought it especially for him. I tried not to make it awkward, so I said yes, started joking about oth...

Today was a weird day at work... many mixed feelings, and many thoughts running through my head that kept me from jumping up and down for joy. Usually, you would find me talking and joking with the customers, asking the questions, and trying hard to seem very interested in their lives' problems that so many times they love to share. But today something was different. I wanted to be sociable, but I couldn't do more than smile, and jut wish each of them a good day. After three hours of work, I felt like I was just a robot, trying to be nice, and to make people feel good walking in. I let myself carried away by some crazy plans I have, and I got pulled out of it by an interesting customer. A guy came in, and wanted to pay the road tax. I smiled, went over to the computer, asked the minimum number of questions - For ow long is the tax? I was so happy to be able to sleep till 9 am, and not stress out that I would have to be at work in 5 hours! I managed to do a lot of things... ok, not a whole lot, but important things. 1. Read a church talk! It has been so long since I actually read something from the prophet today, and it made me so happy to read one of his addresses "Great Expectations" (CES janury 2009) It was so good! I felt like I needed to be more diligent with everything I did: work, school, serving, spiritual growth. Lately, I have found thousands of reasons to be lazy, so reading about the importance of setting a course in life, and sticking hard to it, was kind of like a cold shower. This story includes two events: teaching seminary/institute (because of lack of students, it's a combined lesson), and church today. 1. I was really excited when I found out I had Saturday afternoon off from work! I could finally schedule seminary for a time better suited fr the youth here. Then, my coworker forgot she had the afternoon shift, so she wanted me to switch with her. NO WAY! I said no, and told her why. Another girl, who always thinks she's smarter, said that seminary wasn't important, so I should cancel it. It hit me that people don't really see spiritual things as being anywhere near the top of the priorities list!Too bad for them, they're missing out on so many blessings! Because of my forgetful coworker, I had to leave work, go home and grab the books, and go to church just to go back to work afterwards. So here's how forgetful I am myself! I heard many people complain today about the fact that it was the 3th, and a Friday. Most of the people I talked to today cursed this day. For me it was just another day, but with pinch of surprise. I got to work early morning, 6:45am (some of you may already know that I'm not fun in the morning, I'm sleepy, quiet, and easily annoyed), and to my surprise, one of my coworkers (Cristi) got me into a really good mood by joking, singing, and trying to dance with me. Very soon I found out the reason behind his craziness that early in the morning - the computers crashed at 3 am, so he didn't have to work after that. The computers were still down, so I had a lot of time on my hands too. 1st thought of the day: we got to the point where we depend way too much on computers: no one could get gas in their cars, buy their so much "needed" coffee or cigarettes, or have breakfast because e could not cash in anything! The computers were down till 1 pm, so we just chilled at work...

Today was a long day, but surely not a bore day! I had a pretty usual day at work, talking to people, and having fun with customers and coworkers. By 2 pm, I was getting more and more excited to go home, sleep, and cook something good. Then, one of the girls working there, asked me if I knew anyone willing to hand out fliers for two hours in the afternoon... I thought for a second, maybe Simona, but she wasn't feeling well... or Emi, but she was at school... who else would go on such a short notice, and in the cold, freezing rain?... then it hit me! I could do it! So at three, when clocked out, she handed me 1,000 fliers, and I took off to go conquer the world! Handing out fliers reminded me of my mission, where I handed out soooo many fliers! But for some reason, this time, I did not feel awkward at all! I kept smiling at people, saying hello, and I loved watching their reactions. Hey You, reader!!! I've been thinking about mylife, and it's pretty boring to talk about my day. It's not inetresting, or fun, to say the same thing about every day of your life - "I woke up, took a shower, and went to work... then got home and went to bed." It's depressing for me to say this over and over and over again! So I decided to write in here my funny little moments at work, other activities that come up during the week (like cooking a new recipe, teaching institute, going shopping...). I guess it will also help me realise that my life is pretty fun, full of excitement, but I might be just too tired to realise it. You might wonder what I do that can be viewd as an interesting job? I work as a cashier at a gas station - OMV, in Arad. I work 7 days a week, 8-10 hours a day. I work on two registers, running from one to the other, depending on what customers need. I serve an average of 200 people a day, so I'm always busy. I get home every n...
